Blazon of arms
  • Arms: Gules and Azure quartered shield charged with Or lion rampant, queue-fourche in the Gules 1st and 4th quarters. Star Or and mullet of six points and moon decrescent with a natural coloured fish swimming upwards in Argent stream in Azure 2nd and 3rd quarters.
  • Crest: Repeat of the charges of the shield with a demi-lion queue-forche on the Dexter side and 'fish in stream' with mullet and moon on Sinister side on a display of Azure Eagle wing.
  • Inescutcheon: Or inescutcheon with Sable crowned Sea Eagle (Imperial Eagle).
  • Supporters: Two natural coloured leopards - rampant-guardant on each side of Shield.
  • Armiger location: Republic of South Africa
  • Herald: Danish Herald and published in 'Danmarks Adels Aarbog' 1916 page 476.
  • Artist: Axel E Aamedt - Copenhagen.
  • Date registered/assumed: Original Grant: 2nd August 1701 - Georg Wilhelm von Hedwiger & Siblings and progeny forever. Grantor: Leopold I HRE on creation of title 'Reichsgrafen' Confirmed by Christian IX King of Denmark on 11 July 1898. To Georg Wilhelm von Hedwiger and his siblings and their descendents forever, after this date known as Rigsgreverne Sponneck.
